    1. Hyponymy is a relation between two words in which the meaning of one of the words includes the meaning of the other word. E.g : Word: Cook, Hyponyms: Roast, boil, fry, grill, bake.
Polisemy is a word that has more than one meaning. E.g:
I caught a fish at the bank
I take my money from the bank.

    2. I got another reference, the title of the book is "introduction to language and linguistic". ). In this case, we say that the word
Roast, boil, fry, grill, bak is a hyponym of the word cook. Conversely, cook is a hypernym of
      Roast, boil, fry, grill, bake.

    1. Hymonymy is the relation between words with identical forms but different meanings that is, the condition of being homonyms. A stock example is the word bank as it appears in "river bank" and "savings bank."

    2. Hallo I'm Mawatdah from TBI 6E. I think homonym is a word that has a different meaning but the same pronunciation or spelling. For example, buy vs bye. Buy is a form of verb or verb that is used for all subjects in English while Bye is a form of expression or goodbye that is often used, but in an informal form

  5. To recall what synonyms and antonyms are, I'd like to review some of them. Some words that have the same meaning as others are called synonyms. For example: quick = fast.
Some word that have meanings which are opposite to one another are called antonyms, and these opposite meanings come in two forms: categorical and continuous.
    For example:
    small x big (continues)
    Fire x water (categorical)

    1. small x big (continues) This is due to the relative nature of these words, means when we meet our friend we see that she is small and 2 months later we meet our same friend we compared in 2 months ago, it might be the case that our friend is big. So, the meanings between big and small are on a continuum relative to the object of discussion.

Fire x water (categorical) These are categorical because there is no continuum between them, that is, less fire never means more water and less water never means more fire.
